Ruse municipality held a photo contest "I love movement"

Ruse municipality challenged the creative talent of all those tempted by photography with a photo contest on the theme "I love movement". It was implemented under the "Sports for Green Deal" project under the Erasmus Sport Programme. Its main aims were to provide an opportunity to bring together different perspectives on sport and outdoor activities, to show an active lifestyle as a desirable and attractive activity, to raise awareness of the role of sporting activities in improving physical and mental well-being, as well as to encourage active citizenship and more environmentally responsible behavior.

Adult persons from all over the country and residing in Bulgaria were admitted to the competition, with up to 3 photographs presenting an interpretation of the theme, and the expectation was that the photos should capture a moment of activity - sport, dance or play, which would convey a positive message. Participants were encouraged to capture and capture with their lenses incredible and inspiring moments of sports and recreational activities held outdoors.

Photos for the photo competition had to be no older than 3 years (2021, 2022 or 2023), in digital JPEG format, with a title and accompanied by a short text of up to 200 characters describing the location, situation and history of the photo, with image size between 3000 and 5000 pixels on the long side, resolution not less than 200 dpi but not more than 10MB.

Allowable additional photo processing are: brightness and contrast processing; image sharpening; reframing the photo.

An important condition was that the participants in the contest could only submit photographs taken by themselves and for which they had the copyright.

Photos were accepted between August 9 and September 8. The evaluation criteria were: to be in line with the theme of the competition, aesthetic value, originality and visual impact.

A jury, including a professional photographer and representatives of Ruse Municipality, evaluated the received photographs and determined the three winners, as well as the 7 chosen to participate in the exhibition.
